This educational video summarizes the study Anticholinergic medications for reducing drooling in children with developmental disabilities (Reid et al: Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology 2019).

 

The aim of the published study was to investigate the effectiveness of 3 different anticholinergic drugs in reducing salivary leakage in children with functional variations (such as cerebral palsy and autism), as well as the incidence and frequency of side effects and their impact on the decision to discontinue treatment.
