Indications
Meropenem is indicated for the treatment of the following infections in adults and children aged 3 months and older:
 

• Severe pneumonia, including hospital and ventilator-associated pneumonia.

• Broncho-pulmonary infections in cystic fibrosis

• Complicated urinary tract infections

• Complicated intra-abdominal infections

• Intra- and post-partum infections

• Complicated skin and soft tissue infections

• Acute bacterial meningiti

Product Information 
Meropenem Bradex is a broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the group carbapenem antibiotics.

The bactericidal effect of meropenem is exerted by inhibiting the bacterial cell wall synthesis of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria via binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBP).

As with other beta-lactam antibiotics, the time that meropenem concentrations exceed the minimum inhibitory concentration, MIC, (T> MIC) has been shown to correlate best with effect.
